As a business owner, you want to make sure that the only people who are parking in your parking lot are people who are actually coming into your business. Anyone else parking in your lot takes the space away from a potential customer and is potentially losing you business. One way to handle this problem is to contract with a towing company to haul the cars away. When you do this, make sure that your parking lot has signs that say that non-customers will be towed. When you are looking for towing companies to work with, you want to make sure that you find the right one.

Response Time

When you are looking for a towing company to contract with, one of the things that you want to find out is how quickly they will be able to respond to your calls. It won't help you much if the tow truck comes after the person drives away. So, ask the company how quickly they think that they will be able to have a tow truck to your location so that they can tow away the trespassing car.

Other Businesses

You should also check into what tow companies the businesses around you use. Ask the owners or managers what they like best about that particular company. One benefit to hiring a towing company that lots of other businesses in the area contract with is that it is more likely that the tow company will do something like station trucks in the area so that they can respond to any of the businesses that they are contracted with quickly. The tow company may not do that every day, but on busy days, that might be something they can do.

Fees

While the towing company will get fees from the cars that get towed and from storing the cars, there may also be a fee for you for having cars towed. Check with the towing company to find out if you have to pay a fee, and if so, how often you have to pay it. You may have a monthly fee that will go along with the contract so that you know that you are going to have someone there to tow the vehicle when you need it.

If you have a business with a parking lot, you want to make sure that people who aren't customers don't park in your parking lot. One way to make that happen is to work with a towing company so that offending cars can be hauled away.
